John 15 opens as Jesus and his disciples leave the Upper room. In the parable of the grapevine, Jesus tells this simple yet profound connection between a grapevine and the fruit it bears to our Christian life. A grapevine never consumes it own fruit, as our Christian ministry should also never be for ourselves but for the benefit of others.
